Canyon Ranch Tucson, February 2017

Andrea Stewart and I spent a week at the ranch February 20-26th, 2017.  We participated in the weeklong Life Enhancement Center program which offered informative talks, intense workouts in the gym, hikes and commaraderie.  Andrea also did the Optimal Living program through Medical, so she was busy!  We forgot to take pictures of ourselves, and captured some of the place.

Family members who have been to Tucson CR will find these scenes familiar (Dave, Kim, Lisa, Meltem, Nancy, Kate, Kelsey).  Many of the animal sculptures have been sold - zebra, giraffe, etc.
Double rainbow on Sunday.  We spent Sunday night with Andrea's in laws, Bob and Beth  Acton  in nearby Oro Valley.  Beth is Jim Stewart's sister.

Highlights for me were:
  • Physiology assessment of bones, fat and muscle.  I'm fit for age 68 and have a goal of exchanging 3 lbs of fat for muscle in the next year.  That means strength workouts.  Andrea and I are pinging each other with an agreement to do something each day.  (weights, bike, row, yoga, etc).  We report to Eric the physiologist at the end of March...then keep going.
  • Numerolgy reading was fun and interesting.
  • Rabbi Harold Kushner, who wrote "When Bad Things Happen to Good People", spoke two evenings.
  • Dr Richard Carmona, the former Surgeon General of the US, spoke about alternative and complementary therapies. He's so interesting we stayed after to talk.
