An Evening with artist Susan Gottlieb

On August 30th, Lancaster painter and teacher Susan Gottlieb came to Mt Gretna for a special dinner and art exhibit. Joan and Beth, with Pat's assistance, prepared an Asian dinner -somosas, two curries, coconut rice and spicy green beans. Sorbet/pastry/coconut dessert! Chefs opening scene is below, with East Indies tea and IJ (hot & spicy Indian Junk) in the foreground.

Here's Susan Gottlieb (center) with Sandy and Jeff Bricker. Her art can be seen at http://www.susanjgottlieb.com/. She paints based on independent travel experiences, by moped and foot, in Vietnam and Cambodia, Tunisia, Myanmar/Burma and other places where she seeks "the oldest places on earth" to learn about ancient cultures.

Madelaine Gray looks through the wonderful array of pictures Susan brought.

Dan looks over the Lemon series. Susan Wood bought "Lemons and Artichokes!"

Chefs Joan and Beth calmly await diners, having driven far and wide for supplies like naan.

Sandy's flower arrangements for tables.

Emi and Carl at the fabulous and tasty buffet.

Bill arrives at the naan and papadam.

High population of glassware with Ray, Carl and Hannah.
It was a delightful evening, hearing about Susan G's travels and process of creating art. Next, a visit to her studio.
