Midori comes to Mount Gretna

On Sunday, July 22nd Midori, the renowned violinist, played at the Gretna Playhouse, a benefit for Gretna Music, with pianist Charles Ambramovic. Our neighbor, Nancy Hatz sponsored the concert in memory of her late husband Russell, a violinist. She held a reception on her porch and Midori and Charles came. It was a magical evening. Here's Midori with Nancy Hatz.

Nancy said she was "on cloud nine" and still is. "The experience defies description, I will always get waves of chills just thinking about it - it was a wonderful moment in time." When I turned around to acknowledge the applause, I was amazed whenthey clapped twice as loud. - Nancy Hatz

Tour of Homes

On Saturday, August 4th, we were on the "Tour of Homes" benefitting Gretna Music. Our home was all dressed up for the 1000 people who came through, respectfully and kindly. It's our third time in 14 years, and it's a pleasant time.

One of the more interesting houses was a Campmeeting cottage fixed up as in the 1930's complete with appliances in use.

Hosts who open their homes have a private tour on Friday night of all the homes. Here's Dave with other hosts in a home with a garden railroad.

HOG AND FOG

Harley Owners Group (HOG)
Dave turned in his 14 year old Honda for a Harley sportster.

And Susan bought new golf clubs after 20 years, having become Family One Golfer (FOG) at Lebanon Country Club. The wood and steel clubs are replaced by titanium, and work better!
