Evening - he crashes 

The vet told us Shawnee should weigh 35 lbs, as he did upon arrival in October.  He topped out at 42 lbs...and is on a reduced eating plan and more exercise.  We were walking him 2-4 miles a day.  Today my fitbit showed 15,000 steps - more than 6 miles.  Shawnee took a nap after a 3 mile afternoon walk.

We wondered why the grocery bags on the bench were always on the floor when we come home.  It's his nap site.

His new friend lamb chop.  Dave and I showed him 10 smaller dog toys that he rejected.  When we gave up and turned toward the counter, Shawnee grabbed this big guy and brought him along!  He loves it.
